Rosemary shrub, spear mint, aloevera, lemon grass, stevia plant, etc.

BIOGAS PROJECT
Tumwebaze fruit farm relies much in cooking and lighting with biogas for sustainable, cheaper and cleaner energy, better health and environment.

BIOGAS PRODUCTION
Biogas and nutrients rich slurry are products of the anaerobic digestion of organic matter at high moisture content in biogas digester
The renewable energy is produced when organics are fermented (biodegraded / decomposed) under anaerobic conditions.
Other electron acceptors like oxygen, nitrate and sulphate should be absent

BASIC STEPS OF BIOGAS
The digester is fed regularly with the proper portion of organic waste and water 90 – 99.5% normally 1:1 ratio
After retention period of 25-35 days gas is tapped from the outlet gas pipe and slurry from the automatic outflow (outlet pipe)
Regular feeding of the digester will give constant gas supply.

CONDITION REQUIED
Temperature range of 30 – 35 degree Celsius, and solid content of 07 – 09%

BENEFIT OF BIOGAS
1. Heat energy; it’s an alternative source of fuel to firewood
2. Light energy; Special lambs in reading rearing poultry and security lights etc.
3. Improved soil fertility; From rich slurry
4. Clean and smoke free cooking gas thus indoor pollution and health related diseases are avoided

ANIMAL FEEDS
Tumwebaze fruit farm has planted animals (dairy) elephant fresh feeds alongside the (barbed) wire fence
We have also intercropped fresh shrub in banana plantation specifically for milking (dairy) animals
In most cases we feed our animals with silage, hay, peelings of potatoes, Matooke, Irish, beans, groundnuts, wastes of vegetables from downtown.
We too supplement them with maize brand mixed with rice brand and other supplements.

SILAGE MAKING
Silage is made using molaplus livestock microbes is tastier, more palatable for the animals. Its nutrients content is better, the nutrient is more readily available for the animals.
 So, using molaplus livestock microbes in your dairy or beef farming will minimize feed waste and maximize feed utilization
 Ensure faster growth of your animals due to better digestion
 Improved luminal stability and reduces stress in the animals
 More milk from dairy and more beef from cattle
 Less flies at your farm hence immunity is boosted for your animals
 Reduces costs of production hence enhancing profits
